The countryside around Stansted Airport is surprisingly rural.

The Radisson SAS Stansted and Hilton Hotel Stansted (both luxury 4 star) and the Express by Holiday Inn are the only on-airport hotels.
The Radisson is right by the terminal, the Hilton and the Express by Holiday Inn are a 5 minute bus ride away.
The Days Inn Stansted is very popular, offering the cheapest room rates and a location near the main entrance to the airport. However no terminal transfer transport is provided by the hotel. Transfers are by local taxi or local bus.

Stansted Airport is connected to a motorway running from Cambridge to London. For domestic travellers there are excellent value Stansted hotel and parking packages. For longer trips its often cheaper to use the parking provided as part of these packages instead of just using the airport car parks provided.
