The only direct public transport between London's Heathrow and Stansted airports are the National Express coaches which shuttle between the two airports. Note - there is no direct train service.

The motorway between Heathrow and Stansted suffers from severe congestion. There are routine delays at peak hours during the working week.

We would recommend you allow a minimum of 4 hours between landing at one airport and checking in at the other. A gentle reminder that the low cost airlines at Stansted are not very forgiving if you are late for check in.

At Heathrow the buses do not visit each terminal.

Terminals 1,2,3
For terminals 1,2 and 3 you make your way to the Central Bus Station.

This isn't as bad as it sounds. There are luggage trolley friendly ramps in all the terminals at Heathrow that descend to underground moving
walkways similar to that found airside in the terminals.

Allow about 10 minutes for the journey between terminals and central bus station.
